Customers of Comeau C++ 4.3.10.1 beta please go here instead: http://www.comeaucomputing.com/libcomo/36.html

PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE IN FULL. There are many details in
the discussion below, and although details are tedious, reading
this message in full will save you time and frustration in the long run.

This message contains download and install information for `libcomo'.
libcomo(tm) is the Comeau Standard C++ Library VER 31 for use with
Comeau C/C++(tm) 4.3.3

NOTE THAT libcomo AND Comeau C/C++ ARE SEPARATE PRODUCTS. DOWNLOADING,
OBTAINING OR USING libcomo DOES NOT GIVE, GRANT OR TRANSFER TO YOU
ANY ADDITIONAL RIGHTS TO Comeau C/C++. If you have any questions,
then email us

libcomo has been modified to work with Comeau C++ 4.3.3 on
MS-Windows (XP, ME, 2000, NT, 98 and 95), Solaris/SPARC, SunOS 4.x.ys, NetBSD,
RedHat 6/7/8/9+ LINUX/INTEL/ELF, SuSE 6.3+ LINUX/INTEL/ELF,
"older" LINUX/INTEL/ELFs, SCO UNIX, and UNIX 3/486 SVR3's. For a more
complete list, and other information about libcomo, see
http://www.comeaucomputing.com/libcomo/31.html

This VER 31 version of libcomo is available in a compress'd cpio'd
version at:

  ftp://ftp.comeaucomputing.com/pub/libcomo31.Z

If you do this by hand, make sure that you download in "binary" mode.

SEE THE MS-Windows INFO BELOW ON OBTAINING A .zip FILE VERSION (note
therefore that some files may have cr/lf as their newline delimiter)
and for additional Windows requirements and concerns.

Upon downloading the above file, you should note that its size should be:

  -rwxr-xr-x    1 comeau   root       669251 Dec 17 20:32 libcomo31.Z

Once you uncompress it, its size should be:

  -rwxr-xr-x    1 comeau   root      2099200 Dec 17 20:32 libcomo31

Make a directory somewhere (it's best not to use an existing directory,
so create a new one instead), say /como433/libcomo, then uncompress
and un-cpio it. Below is a sample shell script to install:

#!/bin/sh
set -vx

to=/como433     # CHANGE THIS

cd $to
mkdir libcomo
cd libcomo
#download ftp://ftp.comeaucomputing.com/pub/libcomo31.Z
ls -la libcomo31.Z
uncompress libcomo31.Z
ls -la libcomo31
cpio -ivcdIlibcomo31 # An upper case "eye" is immediately after the d
rm libcomo31

you'll need to upgrade your C compiler, or switch to another C compiler.

Use of any other C compiler(s) or other versions fr
